On Saturday, November 17, 2012 the elegant gala benefit “Viennese Ball of Montreal” was held at the Hotel Marriott Château Champlain under the distinguished patronage and in the presence of the newly arrived Austrian Ambassador to Canada, Arno Riedel, and the Austrian Consul General in Montreal, Ulrike Billard.

2012 also marks a milestone in the Ball’s history in Montreal: It was 50 years ago that the annual gala benefit first supported Austrian–founded SOS Children’s Villages which is today one of the largest child welfare organizations in the world providing long-term, family-based care to orphaned children in over 130 countries.
